On March 14 of this year, representatives of the Department of Indology at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University attended a ceremonial event marking the conclusion of Mr. Sanjay Vedi's mission as the former director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center. Mr. Vedi has completed his service in Kazakhstan and is returning to India, leaving behind a significant legacy in the development of cultural and academic ties between the two countries. The event was held as part of Sustainable Development Goal 17 ("Partnerships for the Goals") and emphasized the importance of continuing collaboration with the new director of the center.

Under Sanjay Vedi's leadership, significant events such as Hindi Diwas were organized, as well as the first International Scientific and Practical Conference on the Hindi Language in Central Asia, which became a milestone in promoting Indian culture and language in the region. For his contributions, he was awarded the Silver Medal of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

"Sanjay Vedi jee has become not only a colleague but also a true friend to our university. His contribution to the development of partnership between Kazakhstan and India cannot be overstated. We are grateful for everything he has done and look forward to continuing our collaboration with the new director of the center," said representatives of our department.
