ETHNIC EQUALITY: NATIONAL CLOTHESAS A SYMBOL OF UNITY

On March 18, in honor of the "Day of National Clothing" at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Geography and Nature Management, Associate Professor of the UNESCO Sustainable Development Department,  Kutzhan A.N. together with students of the faculty held an open educational hour "Ethnic equality: national clothing as a symbol of unity".

As part of Sustainable Development Goal 10 (Reducing Inequality), an event was held dedicated to the national clothing of various peoples. The event was attended not only by representatives of Kazakh culture, but also by Turkmens, who demonstrated the richness and originality of their traditional costumes. Participants learned about the features of the national costume, its symbolism and significance in the history of peoples.

The event contributed to strengthening cultural diversity, mutual understanding and respect for the traditions of different ethnic groups.
