Professor of the department on the morning show "Tangy Studio" on Mathematicians' Day

On March 14, on Mathematicians' Day, famous scientists were guests of the morning show "Tangy Studio": Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Kanguzhin Baltabek Esmatuly and PhD-Doctor Zhumabay Madibayuly. On the air, they discussed the importance of mathematics, the history of the holiday and the contribution of Kazakh mathematicians to the development of science.
Professor Baltabek Esmatuly emphasized that mathematics is rightfully considered the queen of sciences. On the one hand, it stands at the pinnacle of scientific knowledge, and on the other, it serves as the basis for the development of other disciplines. The scientist also spoke about the history of the number π, symbolizing infinity and the accuracy of mathematical calculations.
Dr. Zhumabay Madibayuly noted that this day began to be celebrated in 1988 as "Day of the number π" (π is an irrational number, approximately equal to 3.14142...). And since 2019, it has acquired the status of "Day of Mathematicians", emphasizing the importance of mathematics and its representatives.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to the history of Kazakh mathematicians who played a significant role in the development of science. Among them:
• Salimgerey Zhantorin - a representative of the "Alash" movement, who contributed to mathematical education;
• Alimkhan Yermekov - one of the first Kazakh mathematicians who participated in the creation of maps of Kazakhstan;
• Saduaqas Bokayev and Akbergenov Ibaidolla - outstanding scientists who contributed to the development of the national mathematical school.
At the end of the interview, Baltabek Esmatuly gave viewers valuable advice, noting three key qualities that will help in life:
1. Effort - the desire to change the world for the better.
2. Patience - to curb your ardor and be patient with what you cannot change.
3. Intelligence - the ability to distinguish between what can be changed and what cannot be changed.
The hosts of the program thanked the guests for the interesting conversation and their contribution to the development of science, wished them health and new achievements in scientific work.
