26 february, 2025

From February 25, 2024 to February 25, 2025, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Professor of the Department of Mathematics Khompysh Khonatbek completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Ghent University (Ghent, Belgium) under the "500 Scientists" program. As part of this program, he worked under the supervision of Professor Michael Ruzhansky at the "Ghent Analysis & PDE Centre". During the scientific internship, significant results were obtained in the field of analysis and partial differential equations, which opens up new prospects for further research.

The "500 Scientists" program supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular, SDG 4 "Quality Education" and SDG 9 "Innovation and Infrastructure". The development of scientific potential and the integration of researchers into the international scientific community contribute to the improvement of educational processes and the creation of advanced technologies, which in turn has a positive effect on the development of society.

Now, having returned to his home university, Professor Khonatbek is ready to pass on his knowledge and accumulated experience to students and colleagues. It is expected that his scientific achievements and new methods will enrich the educational program, improve the level of students' training and will contribute to the development of the Department of Mathematics as a whole.
