1st-year students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a successful Nowruz celebration

On March 18, 2025, the 1st-year students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Turkish Studies and the History of Eastern Countries at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a remarkable event titled "Kosh keldin, Az-Nauryz" dedicated to the Nauryz holiday. The event was held at a high level and showcased the beauty of national culture and traditions.
The event was hosted by 1st-year students of the "Foreign Philology" department, Ayndinova Ayim and Muratbay Zere, who skillfully conducted the evening. During the event, students presented an interesting and informative program that promoted national heritage.
1st-year student of the "Oriental Studies" department, Razieva Yasmin, gave a presentation on Kazakh jewelry and showcased her own handcrafted jewelry. Her work demonstrated her dedication to preserving and developing national art.
1st-year student Jumagazy Anel showed a video on how "Nauryz Kozhe" is made and explained the process in Turkish, displaying her language skills and creative presentation.
1st-year student Bidilda Karlygash translated and performed the song "Novruz Bayram" by the Azerbaijani artist Orxan Mürvetli into Turkish, demonstrating her translation and vocal skills.
1st-year student Azhibek Balausa gave a presentation on traditional games played during Nowruz, such as kokpar, kiz kuuu, arkan tartu, altybakan, and asyk, popularizing Kazakh games.
Additionally, 1st-year students of the "Foreign Philology" department, Beksultan Ayanat and Sagyndyk Meyirgul, treated the guests to traditional Kazakh dishes and organized fun games, creating a festive atmosphere.
The event was also attended by the department head M. Sh. Egamberdiev, his deputies A. Khalel and E. Dulaeva, department teachers K. Kaypolla and S. Shahin, as well as 2nd- and 3rd-year students.
The event was organized by N. N. Kairanbayeva and the 1st-year curator M. E. Egamberdiyev, who supported the students in their creative endeavors.
This event was an important step in the development of the students' cultural and creative potential.
