SDG-16: Financial future starts today: Otbasy Bank provided financial advice to students

31 january, 2025

On January 31, an information meeting on the "National Fund for Children" project was held at our university together with representatives of "Otbasy Bank". Students of the Faculty of Law born in 2006-2007 attended this event, where they received detailed information about the project and answers to their questions.
The "National Fund for Children" project, launched in 2024, aims to open special savings accounts for children and adolescents under the age of 18 in the country. Within the framework of the project, the funds allocated annually from the National Fund will be used for children's education, purchase of housing, medical care and other needs.
During the meeting, "Otbasy Bank" specialists paid special attention to students born in 2006-2007, explaining that they will soon turn 18 and can use their savings for various needs, including education and housing. Students were provided with information on how to open savings accounts and how to effectively manage their funds, and their questions were answered in detail.
Students found the event very useful, saying that they understood their savings and what they would be used for in the future. In addition, students who did not have a savings account were offered the opportunity to open a new account, and bank representatives explained the procedure for its registration in detail.
This event was an important step that helped students improve their financial literacy, effectively use state support, and make future financial plans.
