Studying in China: Cultural Immersion and New Opportunities

I am, Zhebegenkyzy Alua a third-year student at the Faculty of Oriental Studies. My experience studying in China became one of the most important and memorable periods of my life. As a student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, I had the opportunity to study and learn Chinese in Lanzhou for a year, and this experience profoundly changed my perspective, knowledge, and life.
The city of Lanzhou immediately captivated me. It is distinguished by its beautiful nature, historical landmarks, and traditional culture. While living here, I not only learned the language, but also had the chance to get acquainted with the lifestyle of the Chinese people, and to immerse myself in their culture and philosophy. The hospitality and openness of the Chinese people helped me adapt quickly, and the support of my friends and professors strengthened my desire for self-improvement in this city.
The academic program was very comprehensive. While mastering the Chinese language, I not only understood grammatical structures, but also improved my speaking skills. Additionally, I became familiar with the Chinese food culture, traditions, and way of life. The more I understood the culture and daily life of the people, the easier the language-learning process became.
This experience in China was a significant step in my academic and personal development. I am very grateful for this unique opportunity, and I can proudly say that this period not only provided me with knowledge, but also gave me life experience that will undoubtedly remain an integral part of my life.
