Askarbekkyzy Zhanerke, a third-year student majoring in "Oriental Studies" at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, shared her experience of studying in China.

China is the most populous country in the world, with a rich culture, traditions, and history. The experiences of female students studying in China are diverse and interesting. I am also one of the students who have gone through this experience, and I would like to share my life in China and my achievements in learning the language.

First Steps in China: Adapting to Local Life and Culture

When I first arrived in China, I witnessed many new things and tried to learn as much as I could. Living in China’s large cities has its unique features. First of all, the work culture in China is at a high level. They place great value on time, so I also adapted to this culture and learned how to manage my time effectively.

The combination of traditional and modern Chinese culture amazed me. On the one hand, traditional Chinese food and culture are preserved, and on the other hand, the cities are full of modern technology and new developments.

The cultural exchanges and programs with other universities in China were also interesting. We made friends with students from other regions of China and participated in cultural exchange events, exchanging experiences. These events not only improved our language skills but also allowed us to make new friends.

Student life in Lanzhou was very interesting and unforgettable for me. I received an education, got acquainted with a new culture, learned Chinese, and gained experience in various aspects of social life. My time in Lanzhou taught me many things: perseverance, self-confidence, and the ability to adapt to new situations. Furthermore, I made many new friends in this city, encountered various cultures, and gained important experience for my future professional and personal life.

Learning Chinese: A Challenging and Interesting Journey

Chinese is one of the oldest and most complex languages in the world. When I arrived in China, one of the first difficulties was the language. Learning Chinese requires a lot of effort and time.

The most effective way to learn Chinese is to be in the local environment and use Chinese in daily life. Another important stage is developing listening skills. I always tried to communicate with Chinese speakers, which helped me improve my language skills quickly. Moreover, with the help of language courses at the Chinese university and my teachers, my level significantly improved.

 Achievements and Future Plans

My life in China and my introduction to its culture broadened my horizons and improved my Chinese language level. This experience taught me a lot: how to adapt to the culture and lifestyle of another country, the importance of language learning, and perseverance.

Studying in China also had a significant impact on my future plans. Currently, I intend to use my knowledge of Chinese to find my place in international relations with China. Additionally, life and study in China have taught me to think globally and embrace different cultures.

China is not just about language and education, but also a world of new experiences and opportunities. My time in this country was one of the great opportunities for me.
