The Demo Lecture on the topic: “Proverbs and Sayings”

On February 20, 2025 within the framework of SDG 4: "Quality Education," the demo lecture on the topic: “Proverbs and Sayings” was conducted for the second-year students of "Kazakh Philology" major. The lecture was delivered by Zhuldyz Bekbolatkyzy Manapbayeva, the first-year PhD student in "Literary Studies," under the guidance of senior lecturer A.K. Sargeltaeva and G.Zh. Bolatova, a senior lecturer and Doctor of Philology from the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory. The primary objective of the lecture was to explore the structural and genre-specific features of proverbs and sayings and to explain their role in shaping the worldview and moral values of the Kazakh people. During the lecture, students were introduced to the historical development of proverbs and sayings, as well as their linguistic and semantic differences. To facilitate understanding, visual examples were provided, and an interactive question-and-answer method was used. Additionally, students analyzed the use of proverbs and sayings in literary texts, examining their meanings and underlying messages. The students actively engaged in discussions, sharing their perspectives on the relevance of proverbs and sayings in modern society. In the final part of the lecture, they were given short analytical tasks to assess their comprehension of the topic. This lecture helped students deepen their appreciation of oral folk literature while enhancing their linguistic and literary knowledge.
