A Scientific Meeting with PhD Doctoral Students Was Held at Department of Turkish Studies and the History of Eastern Countries

On March 27, 2025, an online informational and explanatory meeting was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, at the Department of Turkish Studies and the History of Eastern Countries, for PhD students from different graduation years who have not yet defended their dissertations. The event was attended by the Head of the Department, Associate Professor Mirzahan Egamberdiev, Acting Associate Professor, Deputy Head of the Department for Educational, Methodological, and Educational Work Agnur Khalel, as well as Deputy Head of the Department for Scientific Innovation and International Relations, Associate Professor Elnara Dulaeva.
During the meeting, Mirzahan Egamberdiev provided explanations to the PhD students on a number of important topics, such as the general rules for awarding degrees, new requirements for the defense of doctoral dissertations, as well as the approval and re-approval of domestic and foreign scientific advisors. He explained in detail the importance of publishing articles in scientific journals and international peer-reviewed journals (SCOPUS, WOS), which are included in the approved list of scientific publications.
Elnara Dulaeva emphasized that doctoral students should maintain close contact with their scientific advisors and the department throughout their research activities. She also reminded the students that for a successful defense, doctoral students must timely and competently complete all tasks requested by the dissertation council and submit all required materials to the Academic Secretary.
At the end of the meeting, the doctoral students asked questions to the speakers, and received comprehensive and valuable answers. The meeting was held at a high level, providing doctoral students with important information for their further preparation for the defense of their doctoral dissertations.
