On March 27, 2025 the meeting of the management and teaching staff of the Faculty of Oriental Studies with foreign teachers took place. During the meeting the Dean of the faculty Em Natalya welcomed all the arrived foreign scholars and expressed hope for joint fruitful work. In her speech the dean of the faculty emphasized that the attraction of foreign scientists is carried out for the purpose of professional development of the teaching staff, as well as for providing consultations on various academic and scientific issues.
Not once at different meetings, the rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi K.Zh. Tuimebayev noted that for quality education it is necessary to attract foreign specialists who will share their experience and knowledge with students and teachers. This will not only increase the level of education but also strengthen international relations and cooperation between educational institutions around the world.
The Faculty of Oriental Studies works very well in this direction. For example, today there are only 7 foreign scholars teaching and conducting research at the faculty. They are Fahimeh Shakiba (Iran), Son Yujung, Lee Beng Jo, Myong Sung Ok, Jang Beng Sun (South Korea), Ninomiya Takashi (Japan), Savash Shahin (Turkey), who will give classes for students and conduct international projects with teachers during the year.
The students of the faculty very much appreciate the classes of the foreign professors. They note that the classes are held in a free format, where they can ask questions and practice the language. The work on attracting foreign scientists to the faculty is carried out constantly in the process of cooperation with foreign partner universities and in accordance with the preliminary agreement and the need of the university.
At the end of the meeting, the dean of the faculty and foreign teachers informally discussed plans for the development of the faculty and identified areas for growth.
