The Role of the Nauryz Holiday in the Social and Cultural Life of the People of Kazakhstan
On March 27, in dormitory #4, teachers of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism Zarema Abisheva, Mereke Sakypbek and Zhanerke Tokenova organized a debate-discussion on the topic "The Role of the Nauryz Holiday in the Social and Cultural Life of the People of Kazakhstan". The participants were divided into two groups: some emphasized the importance of Nauryz as a symbol of unity, renewal and preservation of national traditions, while others focused on its evolution in modern conditions, arguing that the holiday should adapt to new realities. During the discussion, the students noted that Nauryz plays an important role in strengthening interethnic harmony, popularizing national culture and supporting the spiritual values of Kazakhstanis.
As a result of the discussion, the participants concluded that Nauryz not only retains its traditional essence, but also develops, acquiring new forms of celebration. It was noted that it is important for young people not only to celebrate this day, but also to study its history and meaning more deeply. The outcome of the debate was a proposal to more actively include modern elements in the celebration, such as thematic cultural festivals, educational projects and social initiatives, so that Nauryz remains relevant for all generations.
