The Center for Arabic Studies Signed a Memorandum

As part of the SDG clause "Partnerships for Sustainable Development," the Director of the Center for Arabic Studies at Al-Farabi KazNU, Doctor of Philology Bayan Nursultanovna Djubatova, and the Director of the Islamic Research Institute of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (SAMK), Candidate of Philology Turaly Kydyr Edilbayuly, signed a joint memorandum of cooperation.

T. Edilbayuly introduced the activities of the research institute he leads and the scientific projects being implemented. He emphasized that the institute's main goal is to provide a scientific and theoretical basis for traditional Islam and that several academic works have already been published within this framework.

The Director of the Center for Arabic Studies, Bayan Nursultanovna, wished the institute success in its work and expressed readiness to collaborate on joint scientific projects. Additionally, the faculty members of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, which includes the Arabic Studies Department, expressed their willingness to work together on translating, classifying, and introducing Arabic-language sources into academic circulation, particularly those related to the medieval Kazakh steppe.

The Center for Arabic Studies was established in the 2000s under the Faculty of Oriental Studies at KazNU and has since been training qualified orientalists and Arabists. In the future, joint scientific projects are planned with the Center.
