The Department of Chinese Studies held a scientific seminar on the topic ”The impact of economic changes in China on culture after the policy of ”openness and reform".

On March 28, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a scientific seminar on the topic “The impact of economic changes in China on culture after the policy of ”openness and reform". The event was organized by the Department of Chinese Studies as part of the research work of 2nd–year doctoral student Iskakova Zukhra in the specialty 8D02209 - "Oriental Studies".

The seminar was attended by teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates and researchers interested in the development model of Chinese culture. The purpose of this event is to conduct an in-depth study of how China's economic reforms have affected cultural aspects. The seminar discussed the importance of China's reforms and opening-up policies (since 1978) on the path of economic development and the impact on cultural changes in society. In addition, the issues of modern transformations of Chinese culture and cultural integration in the era of globalization were discussed.

Following the results of the seminar, it was decided to prepare a scientific publication and organize additional meetings for a deeper study of the topic.
