On March 27, 2025, the first-year master's degree students majoring in "Foreign Philology", Isataeva Aizada and Ryskulbek Zhanel, conducted a curatorial hour on the topic: "Nature is in Our Hands" as a part of their teaching practice for the third-year students specializing in "Foreign Philology". The event was led by the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation, A. Zh. Baieli.
The goal of the curatorial hour was to increase students' environmental awareness, develop a responsible attitude toward nature, and foster an understanding that protecting the environment starts with each individual. During the session, important issues such as modern environmental problems, the impact of human activity on nature, and ways to protect the environment were discussed. Participants examined the main causes of environmental pollution, global warming, deforestation, biodiversity loss, and possible solutions to these issues.
To deepen their engagement with the topic, students participated in group work. They were divided into teams and prepared mini-projects on the following topics: Simple ways to preserve the environment in daily life; The impact of an eco-conscious lifestyle on the future of the planet; Possible solutions to environmental problems. Students actively engaged in the discussion, shared examples of environmental issues in their region, proposed ideas for improvement, and talked about their personal experiences with conscious consumption.
In the final part of the curatorial hour, a video on the impact of human activity on nature was shown. After watching, participants discussed the key ideas and formulated specific steps that could help each person contribute to environmental protection.
The event took place in an active and engaging atmosphere. Students noted that they learned a lot of new information about environmental issues and reflected on how they could change their habits to benefit nature. Through discussion, they concluded that an eco-conscious attitude is not only a personal responsibility but also a contribution to the common future.
