Faculty Members and PhD Students of the Department of Chinese Studies Honored Ahead of Science Day

Today, April 11, on the eve of Science Day, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a round table with the participation of faculty members, PhD students, and young researchers.

The event was attended by the Director of the Department of Scientific and Innovation Activities, Kuanysh Talgatuly Tastambek, who emphasized the significant contribution of young scholars to the development of oriental studies in Kazakhstan.

During the round table, participants discussed the prospects for the development of oriental studies, the role of faculty research initiatives, and priorities for supporting young scientists. The faculty leadership expressed gratitude to several active members of the academic community and presented them with awards.

Outcomes of the meeting:

• Professor of the Department of Chinese Studies, Nabizhan Mukametzhanuly, was awarded a letter of gratitude from the university administration for his scientific contribution;

• Senior lecturer of the Department of Chinese Studies, Aizhan Koibakova, received a letter of gratitude for her active pedagogical and research work;

• PhD student of the Department of Chinese Studies, Sandugash Mettibayeva, was awarded the title of Best PhD Student of the Faculty and received a certificate of recognition.

This event served as a platform for dialogue between generations of scholars and demonstrated the strong scientific potential of the Faculty of Oriental Studies as part of a university with the status of a research institution.
