Guest lecture "Prosecutor's office system and legal policy: current situation and direction of development"

As part of the 70th anniversary of the Faculty of Law of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, on April 11, 2025, a guest lecture was held by Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Mambetovich Koigeldiev on the topic: "The prosecutor's office system and legal policy: current situation and direction of development", the organizer of this event was the Department of Civil Law, Civil Procedure and Labor Law.
This notable event brought together students, master's and doctoral candidates, and faculty members, offering them the opportunity to engage with one of the university’s distinguished alumni. Mr. Koigeldiev graduated from KazNU with a degree in International Law and began his professional journey at the very same university, working at the Department of Civil and Business Law from 2002 to 2004.
In his address, Mr. Koigeldiev highlighted the critical role that KazNU plays in shaping highly qualified legal professionals. He emphasized the mission of the Prosecutor’s Office in upholding the rule of law, protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, and ensuring legal oversight in Kazakhstan’s social and economic spheres.
A key focus of the lecture was the integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence into the justice system. Mr. Koigeldiev shared his insights on how AI is transforming legal processes through improved analytics, preventive measures, transparency, and operational efficiency. He underscored the importance of equipping future legal professionals with both classical legal knowledge and modern digital competencies, including AI technologies, to meet the evolving demands of the legal profession.
The lecture sparked dynamic discussions among the audience. Students actively engaged with questions on the use of AI in legal practice, the prospects of digitalizing criminal procedure, and career pathways within the Prosecutor’s Office.
At the conclusion of the lecture, faculty and students expressed their appreciation to Mr. Koigeldiev for his meaningful and informative presentation, and extended their best wishes for his continued success in public service.
The Faculty of Law at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University takes pride in the accomplishments of its alumni and gratefully acknowledges their contributions to the advancement of the national legal system.
