FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES CELEBRATED «APRIL 12 - SCIENCE WORKERS' DAY»

On April 11, 2025, a round table was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the participation of young scientists, doctoral students of 1-3 courses, dedicated to «April 12 – the Day of Scientists». The event was moderated by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Scientific and Innovative Activities and International Relations, PhD - Alipova Saya. 

The main purpose of the event is to stimulate young scientists, exchange experiences on the path to science and increase interest in academic careers. The meeting was opened by the Director of the Department of Science and Innovation, PhD, Associate Professor Tastambek Kuanysh and made a welcoming speech for the professional holiday of scientists. Natalia Borisovna, Dean of the Faculty, Candidate of Historical Sciences, also wished the doctoral students success in their scientific work.

Within the framework of the event, scientist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Nabizhan Mukametkhanovich made a meaningful presentation on the topic «Strategies for effective work with a supervisor» and Candidate of Historical Sciences, Acting Professor Egamberdiev Myrzakhan Sharipbayevich on the topic «The process of defending a doctoral dissertation and the activities of the dissertation council». Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, PhD Kairanbayeva Nazim shared her experience and explained each stage of doctoral studies regarding mistakes, successful moments, and difficulties. And on behalf of the doctoral students, Nazerke Khamitova, a 3rd-year doctoral student specializing in Oriental Studies, shared her research work. At the end of the meeting, the participants shared their experiences and openly shared their opinions on the difficulties and achievements in conducting scientific research.

At the end of the meeting, a solemn award ceremony was held, several teachers and young scientists of the faculty were awarded letters of thanks on behalf of a Member of the Board, Acting Vice–rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of the University M.K. Ibraimov.

Such meetings are an excellent source of motivation for doctoral students and young scientists and strengthen the inner connection of the academic community.
