METEOTALKS: Meeting with an Alumna Who Bridged Science and Practice

14 april, 2025

On April 9, 2025, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a meeting in an open dialogue format — METEOTALKS.

METEOTALKS is a platform that connects future meteorologists and hydrologists with alumni who have already established themselves in the profession.

The honored guest of the event was Sanimgul Nazarbekova, an alumna of the Meteorology program who completed an academic internship in Japan. She is currently actively involved in climate research and environmental projects abroad, continuing her scientific and professional activities, and works as a meteorological engineer at RGP Kazairnavigation in Kostanay city.

The meeting was attended by faculty members, master's students, and undergraduate students. Sanimgul shared memories of her student years, experiences of professional growth, and the specifics of studying abroad. The participants asked questions, discussed important topics, and received valuable advice.

The event became a valuable bridge between theoretical education and practical implementation in the profession. The open dialogue inspired students to strive for development, expand their horizons, and make confident career choices.
