The Second Round of the International Public Speaking Contest Was Held at the Department of Chinese Studies

On April 15, 2025, the Department of Chinese Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University successfully held the second round of the International Oratory Contest on the theme "A Day I Cannot Forget."

This significant event brought together students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and N.P. Ogarev Research University. Participants included first- to fourth-year students from the programs “Translation Studies,” “Foreign Philology,” and “Oriental Studies.”

The contestants demonstrated a high level of preparation, excellent command of the Chinese language, and remarkable public speaking skills. The main goal of the contest was to develop students’ oratory abilities, provide a platform for self-expression, and strengthen academic cooperation between the universities. Speeches covered original and thought-provoking topics touching on key social, cultural, and scientific issues, reflecting the depth of students’ thinking and the quality of their academic training.

The event was held in a warm and supportive atmosphere, allowing each participant to showcase confidence, creativity, and the ability to engage with the audience.
