University Chess Cup Tournament
The victory of the team of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the University Chess Cup chess tournament.
In the tournament among university students, which was held for the first time, the KazNU team took first place in the team competition. AlmaU University - 2nd place. MUIT University - 3rd place. The tournament was attended by teams from 34 higher educational institutions.
The competition is organized by the Chess Federation of Kazakhstan and the National Sports Student Union.
The two-day competitions were held according to the Swiss system. The tournament consisted of 9 rounds, where each player was given 10 minutes, and 5 seconds were added after each turn.

Tursynali Bekarys, a 1st year student at the Faculty of Medicine,
Amanzhol Sultan is a 3rd year student at the Faculty of Information Technology,
Konysbai Shapagat is a 4th year student at the Faculty of Information Technology
Asel Lesbekova is a 1st year student at the Higher School of Economics and Business.
Almas Shudabai, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of KazNU, won a gold medal on the first board in the individual competition of the tournament.
