21 april, 2025

On April 21, 2025, we held an the demonstration lesson with the students of RET major. The lesson  topic was  "Defenders of the Fatherland Day in Kazakhstan." Defenders of the Fatherland Day is a public holiday and a day off in Kazakhstan. It is celebrated annually on May 7. The reason for choosing this date was the fact that on this very day in 1992, the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed a decree on the creation of the national armed forces. In 2012, the Head of State signed the Law “On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, according to which May 7 is  Defender of the Fatherland Day - was established as a public holiday. In Kazakhstan, the Concept of Military Reform and the State Program of Military Development were adopted, which reflect the current issues of military doctrine and army reform. In particular, the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan moved to a three-branch structure by creating the General Staff of the Ground Forces and Air Defense Forces, as well as the Naval Forces Command. The role of the reserve of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief was assigned to the airborne troops. A separate branch of the Armed Forces was created - missile troops and artillery. . In 2022, the Decree "On the Creation of the Special Operations Forces Command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was signed. Military-technical cooperation in all possible directions has been a core policy of Kazakhstan since its independence in 1991.  The students prepared reports and shared their opinions.
