COURSE PAPER DEFENSE HELD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF TURKISH STUDIES AND HISTORY OF THE EAST

On April 29, 2025, at 16:00, second-year students of the educational program “6B02207 – Oriental Studies” defended their course papers in the subject “Modern and Contemporary History of the Studied Country” at the Department of Turkish Studies and History of the East. The event was attended by the Deputy Head of the Department for Academic and Educational Work, A. Khalel, and Senior Lecturer N.K. Ilyas.

The course papers were supervised by Senior Lecturer K.B. Zhanataeva. During the defense, the following students presented their works: Ayazhan Bolatova – “Contemporary Domestic Politics of Turkey,” Dana Khairolla – “The Language Reform of 1928: The Impact of Alphabet Change on Turkish Society,” Aiyım Askerova – “Formation of Youth Culture in Turkey and the Impact of Globalization,” Diana Aldibayeva – “Atatürk’s Reforms and Their Impact on Modern Turkish Society,” Sabina Abyt – “Social and Legal Status of Women in the Ottoman Empire,” Aiyım Kantaeva – “The Military System of the Ottoman Empire,” and Gulnaz Konurova – “The Ottoman Empire and European Powers: Diplomatic Relations.”

The attending faculty asked questions and shared their comments. The students successfully defended their course papers at a high level.
