KazNU to Launch a New Academic Program at the Faculty of Oriental Studies

At the meetings of Academic Committees No. 3 and No. 7 of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, held on May 14 and 15, a proposal was made to establish the university's first and new interdisciplinary educational program titled “Translation Studies: Chinese Language in the Field of Law.” The program is planned to be implemented at the Faculty of Oriental Studies in collaboration with the Faculty of Law at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
This new program lies at the intersection of translation and legal studies and aims to train future specialists in professional legal translation between Chinese and Kazakh (or Russian). Students will develop skills in translating legal documents, international contracts, court rulings, and legislative acts.
KazNU is one of the leading universities recognized globally for offering innovative and in-demand educational programs. The “Translation Studies: Chinese Language in the Field of Law” program marks another concrete step in this strategic direction.
