Young Sinologist from the Department of Chinese Studies Wins State Research Grant

PhD holder Asyl Moldir Bakytzhanovna, a lecturer at the Department of Chinese Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, has been awarded a government grant for young scientists by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023–2025. Her research proposal in the field of “Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts” was approved and supported by the National Scientific Council.

Since 2011, Moldir Bakytzhanovna has been working at the Department of Chinese Studies and successfully defended her doctoral dissertation in Oriental Studies in 2023. She is currently leading a research project titled “The Evolution of China’s Cultural Diplomacy Intensity toward Kazakhstan: Opportunities and Challenges.” The project is carried out with the involvement of young scholars and aims to explore the dynamics of cultural relations between China and Kazakhstan.
