Heads of UNESCO Chairs at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University participated in the meeting of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO affairs

On May 16, 2025, the regular meeting of the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO affairs took place at UN Plaza in Almaty.

The meeting was chaired by the State Advisor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Erlan Karin. The agenda included discussions on the preservation of cultural and natural heritage, as well as current issues in science and education.

Representing Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the meeting were Dr. Tursynkul Amankeldiyevna Bazarbayeva, Head of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development, and Associate Professor Oryntai Zhanabayevna Oshanova, Head of the UNESCO Chair of Journalism and Communication.

The participation of KazNU’s academic representatives once again demonstrated the university’s active commitment to sustainable development and its dedication to international cooperation in addressing global environmental, cultural, and educational challenges.
