Visit to the National Library as a part of summer practical training course

May 27, 2025, the 1st year students of the department of the Middle East and South Asia visited the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of their educational practice together with their lecturers. They got acquainted with the routine of the Rare Books and Manuscript Library Service section of the library. We were met by the head of the branch, Abikova Gulshat Masalimkyzy, who spoke about the preservation and processing of rare books and manuscripts in the department of the library fund. There are about 40,000 books have been stored in the department, nearly 1,000 of which are the manuscripts. Students also visited the Service of World Literature, where the head of the department, Tuyakova Salimoy Toktasynovna introduced us with the books written in more than 130 languages ​​of the world collected in this section.
