ETERNAL COUNTRY: GOLDEN CRADLE OF FRIENDLY NATION

It is clear that over the years of independence, friendly relations with fraternal Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan have been successfully developing and strengthening. As well as Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are united by a centuries-old historical and cultural community. The year-on-year increasing in the number of students coming to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University to receive higher education in several specialties which is the clear proof to the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, which are located adjacent to each other in Central Asia. Due to the increasing number of Turkmen students, interest in the traditions and culture of their native country is growing day by day.

             On May 25 an event and presentation for the introduction of national cuisine and traditions was organized in Almaty  with the participation of members of the Turkmen Ethno cultural Center, and students and teachers of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies. At the event, Turkmen national dishes "fitchi" and "dograma" were prepared and served to the guests. Channel 7 television came to the event and filmed it. Gulnara Ataevna, a member of the Turkmen Ethnocultural Center, noted that "strengthening friendly ties between the two countries is very important for future generations." The teachers responsible for the event, A. Bayeli and A. Tonker, summed up the event by emphasizing that the harmony and friendship between Kazakh and Turkmen students do not create difficulties on studying, but rather support each other, contributing to the students' positive results on their studies.
