“Morphological and Poetic Annotation of Abai’s Poems”

At Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the scientific project: “Morphological and Poetic Annotation of Abai’s Poems” (registration number BR 21882334) is being carried out under the supervision of Doctor of Philology, Professor G.B. Madieva, together with a team of researchers.

This project aims at digitally describing  Abai’s language, laying the foundation for future machine processing of the Kazakh language, and broading  application in digital linguistics and education. Furthermore, it offers great opportunities to introduce Kazakh poetry to the international scientific community.

By integrating modern approaches at the intersection of language and literature, the project reveals the deep layers of Kazakh poetry. Systematizing Abai’s language from linguistic and poetic perspectives is not only of scientific importance but also holds significant cultural and historical value.

 “Morphological and Poetic Annotation of Abai’s Poems” project  enables students to master both theoretical and practical aspects of the Kazakh language. They learn to perform morphological analysis and to  study poetic structures (rhyme, meter, rhythm) based on Abai’s works. The project provides experience in applying digital linguistics and natural language processing technologies, fostering multidisciplinary skills in students. Additionally, working with the text corpus develops analytical and research abilities. The project promotes respect for national spiritual values, literature, and language.
