Round Table on “Implementation of the Memorandum on Joint Publication of the Silk Road University Textbook”
On June 14, 2025, a round table on the topic “Implementation of the Memorandum on Joint Publication of the Silk Road University Textbook” was held at the Kazakhstan-China Joint Laboratory. The event brought together professors from the School of Physics and the School of Computer Science and Technology of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU, China), as well as representatives of leading faculties of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
During the meeting, participants discussed key organizational aspects related to the development of joint educational materials, including the number of authors, authorship procedures, and the format of collaboration between the universities. As a result of constructive dialogue, the parties agreed to jointly publish textbooks in five priority areas: biology, medicine, physics, artificial intelligence, and computer science. The textbooks will be published in four languages — Kazakh, Chinese, Russian, and English — to improve accessibility to educational resources and strengthen academic cooperation within the framework of the “Silk Road University” initiative.
This collaboration contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by promoting access to innovative educational content and enhancing international academic partnerships between universities of Central Asia and China.
