The defense of the diploma theses was successful
From June 2 to June 9, 2025, the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University successfully held the final state attestation of graduates in the following educational programs:
- 6B11103 – Restaurant and Hotel Business (Kazakh-medium),
- 6B11101 – Tourism (Russian-medium).
This year, the Chair of the State Attestation Commission was Kuralai Ongarova, General Director of Rixos Hotel, a highly respected expert in the hospitality industry. The event also featured the participation of Ayazhan Myrzagaliyeva, Commercial Director of Dreamscape Travel LLP, highlighting the strong collaboration between academic training and the real sector of the hospitality and tourism industry. The commission also included leading faculty members of the department, PhD holders, and associate professors.
In their thesis projects, graduates addressed pressing topics such as current trends in the tourism and hospitality sector, digital technologies in service, sustainable tourism, restaurant marketing, and innovative approaches in customer service. The students demonstrated a high level of professional competence, creativity, and confidently presented the results of their pre-graduation internships conducted in leading hotels, travel agencies, and restaurant businesses across the country. Results of the defense: The majority of students received “excellent” grades, reflecting the quality of their academic preparation and practical work. The most promising projects were recommended for participation in professional competitions and potential implementation in the industry.
