This year, our summer began with a scientific breakthrough – the second International Summer School “Protect Environment-2025" was successfully held!
The theme of the summer school:
“Methods of assessing the anthropogenic impact on the environment: geosystems, society, education, culture and worldview”
The goal is to form an international platform for environmentally responsible youth by supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Scientists who have given lectures on the following topics::
Scientific, innovative and educational activities of the G&ES Faculty – Prof. Aliya Aktymbayeva
Environmental Impact Assessment Methodology – Dr. Aina Rysmagambetova
Disaggregation strategies for demographic data in Central Asian countries – Zabira Rakhymbay
Geospatial Intelligence for River Flow Prediction in the Balkhash Lake Basin – Dr. Asset Yegizbayeva
Development of remote sensing methods for zoning fields of irrigated agriculture – Dr. Kyrgyzbay Kudaybergen
Spatial and temporal analysis of land use change in peri-urban areas – Kairat Augambaev
The GIS in environmental management – Prof. Aizhan Assylbekova
Study of land use dynamics and research in this area – Aisa Sankibay
Field studies and scientific trips:
– Hiking route along the Ile-Alatau GNPP - “Japanese trail”
– Charyn Canyon-Valley of Castles tour

- Kazhydromet Weather Station and Weather Forecasting Center
Getting to know the laboratory and scientific infrastructure:

This summer school allowed the participants to create friendships inspired by new ideas, combining science, nature and culture.
