On July 2, 2025, as part of the international summer school “Protect Environment – 2025,” another academic day was held at the Kazakh-Chinese Laboratory of Remote Sensing and Its Application at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, dedicated to the assessment of anthropogenic impact on the environment.
The event was attended by students from the People's Republic of China, who arrived in Almaty to participate in a training program aimed at fostering environmental awareness, advancing scientific knowledge, and supporting the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

PhD, Acting Professor of the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre, Gulnura Isanova delivered a presentation on “Assessment of the Current State of Soil Cover on the Dried Seabed of the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan.” During the second session, she covered key aspects of the development and significance of geotourism in Kazakhstan.

Particular interest was sparked by the lecture of Madiyar Kadylbekov, Senior Lecturer of the same department, which focused on monitoring land degradation processes using remote sensing data. In the afternoon, the participants engaged in a practical session on applying the presented methodologies.

The organization of such events contributes to strengthening international academic cooperation, developing bilateral scientific and educational ties between Kazakhstan and China, and fostering sustainable approaches among young professionals to address modern environmental challenges.
