Representatives of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism attended the Summer School in China

From July 12 to July 25, 2025, Ilan Kuanyshkyzy Satkali, a first-year PhD student of the educational program "8D11102 – Tourism and Hospitality", and Yerkezhan Ruslankyzy Dauletkhanova, a specialist of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, took part in the Summer School organized by Xinjiang University in Urumqi, People’s Republic of China.

The Summer School program was aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation, enhancing research competencies, and promoting intercultural exchange in the field of tourism and hospitality. During their stay, the participants attended lectures by leading professors, took part in scientific seminars and roundtable discussions, and gained insights into sustainable tourism development practices in the Xinjiang region.

In addition to academic activities, the program included cultural excursions, visits to tourism sites, and exchange experiences with Chinese students and faculty members.

Participation in this program marked an important step in advancing academic mobility and international scientific collaboration for the faculty and students of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
