Cooperation with the Asian University of Technology

A meeting with the delegation of the Asian University of Technology was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
In his welcoming speech, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, spoke about the activities of the research university, focusing on cooperation with 23 universities and institutes of Uzbekistan, including Tashkent State University named after Nizami, Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan, University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Samarkand State Medical University, Ferghana Polytechnic Institute and others..
On March 27, 2025, a meeting was held with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, Bakhtiyor Ibragimov. The parties discussed the development of cooperation in the field of higher education and science.
Currently, 145 undergraduate and graduate students from the Republic of Uzbekistan are studying at KazNU. In turn, in terms of outbound mobility, in the period 2024-2025, 56 teachers, 3 doctoral students and 103 undergraduates from KazNU visited universities in the Republic of Uzbekistan to study, participate in various conferences and conduct research internships.
Thanking for the interest in KazNU's activities, the rector suggested discussing the possibility of organizing an academic exchange of teachers and students in the fields of engineering, information technology, artificial intelligence and management; holding a joint hackathon or competition for innovative projects with students of KazNU and the Asian University of Technology; creating interuniversity research groups to prepare joint scientific publications on digitalization and sustainable development and others .
In his response, Rector of the Asian University of Technology Lachin Rakhmanov thanked for the warm welcome, expressing deep interest in strengthening the partnership between the universities. He noted that he considers such areas as robotics, climate change and its impact on the environment, physics, as well as economics and management to be the most promising areas for cooperation. He also suggested considering the possibility of preparing PhD-doctoral students for the Asian University of Technology and inviting KazNU professors.
The meeting ended with an exchange of views on the implementation of joint scientific and educational projects.
