
On September 2, 2025, at the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies S.D. Seydenova delivered a leadership lecture on the topic “The limits of my language mean the limits of my world” to the first-year students majoring on “6B02303 – Foreign Philology (Western Languages)” and “6B02304 – Translation Studies (Western Languages)” .
During the lecture, the important aspects of professional development, the role of language in shaping one's personality and expanding one's horizons, as well as the development of leadership skills, were discussed. The students took part in the dialogue with interest, shared their thoughts and asked questions. The lecture was held in a warm and inspiring atmosphere. The students thanked the lecturer for the valuable insights and motivation to learn.
Following the lecture, a conversation took place with M.M. Aimagambetova, Head of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies. The students learned about the department's areas of work, the educational process, and the opportunities for participation in scientific and international activities. The discussion also focused on academic integrity, the importance of self-development, and active participation in the faculty and university community.
The meeting was an important step towards successful adaptation and an active student start.
