The Second Meeting of the Association of Manuscript Scholars of Kazakhstan: Spiritual Heritage and Scientific Continuity

This gathering was remembered as a historic event of great significance for national culture and spiritual life.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Ömir Orazuly Tuyakbayev, an orientalist and PhD, Researcher at the “Written Heritage and Spiritual Culture” Research Center of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In his opening speech, he addressed contemporary methodological foundations and pressing issues related to the study, preservation, and scholarly circulation of manuscripts. The main presentation, “State and Private Manuscript Collections in Kazakhstan: Scientific and Practical Importance, Legislative and Legal Issues”, outlined the directions that give a fresh impetus to the development of manuscript studies in the country.

The session was attended by faculty members and students from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

As part of the event, the manuscripts of the public figure Akan Tanjarykuly were officially handed over to the collections of the National Library of Kazakhstan. The valuable manuscripts were ceremonially presented by his daughter, Azhar Akankyzy Taniyarova. The manuscripts were formally accepted by the Director of the National Library, Gaziza Kudaibergenkyzy Nurgaliyeva, and the Head of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Department, Gulshat Masalimkyzy Abikova. This ceremony became a significant cultural event for Kazakh spirituality and the scholarly community, ensuring the transmission of ancestral heritage to future generations.
