12 september, 2025

On September 12, 2025, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Almaty city administration, and the Youth Policy Department jointly held the amazing city youth festival “Turki Fest Almaty – 2025.” This event was specially organized to support youth creativity.

Since August, over 300 talented young people from universities in Almaty participated in the selection rounds and showcased their skills. This year, Almaty was awarded the title of “Youth Capital of the Turkic World” — a great honor officially announced by Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest.

During the festival, young people took the stage to perform in various categories such as vocal, dance, instrumental performance, national fashion and crafts. For example:

“Best Vocal” – a student from S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.

“Best National Dance” – team from Almaty University of Technology.

“Best Instrumental Performance” – youth from Narxoz University.

“Best National Fashion and Crafts” – students of Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University.

Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University excelled in “Best Group Vocal,” “Best Choreography,” and “Best Orchestra” categories.

Bakyt Arystangaliyeva, a student of Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, won “Best Traditional Singer.”

“Audience Favorite” went to Tasbolat Zhasulan, a student from Kazakh National Agrarian Research University.

“Best Solo National Dance” – Dayana Muradova from Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University.

“Best Performance” – students from Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.

“Most Charismatic Youth” – students of T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts.

Winners received diplomas and cash certificates.

In short, this festival was an excellent opportunity to showcase young talents, strengthen friendship, and promote cooperation. May Almaty, the youth capital of the Turkic world, host many more such events!
