A visit of the General Consul of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty within the framework of “Partnership for Sustainable Development” of the SDGs
On September 19, 2025, the General Consul of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty, Suna Ahmadi, visited the Faculty of Oriental Studies and discussed prospects for further cooperation with the Dean of the Faculty, M. Egemberdiev. Particular attention was given to supporting student initiatives, organizing joint academic conferences and cultural events. During the meeting, the Consul became acquainted with the faculty members teaching the Persian language and with the activities of the Iranian Studies division at the Department of the Middle East and South Asia. This visit at the beginning of the new academic year heralds the implementation of new initiatives that will strengthen relations between the two countries. The agreements reached open up new prospects for deepening academic dialogue and promoting Iranian culture in Kazakhstan.
