The city youth festival “Turki fest Almaty – 2025” was successfully and professionally organized at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the support and in cooperation with the Almaty City Administration and the Almaty Youth Policy Department. The event was dedicated to celebrating Almaty’s designation as the Youth Capital of the Turkic World.

As a reminder, this status was officially granted to Almaty on May 21, 2025, during an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest, announced by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This highlights the city’s developed cultural, scientific potential and youth-friendly infrastructure.

During the festival, young people from the Turkic world gathered in one space to honor their shared cultural heritage, exchange creative ideas, and demonstrate a shining example of friendship and cooperation.

The event brought together active students from KazNU and several leading universities in Almaty, including:

  • Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University

  • Kazakh National Agrarian Research University

  • T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts

  • S. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University

  • Almaty Technological University

  • Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages

  • Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory

  • Narxoz University

The festival aimed to strengthen cultural, spiritual, and creative ties among Turkic youth, foster new generation leaders, and promote common values of Turkic peoples.

Talented students from participating universities were awarded special diplomas and monetary certificates in various nominations.

“Turki fest Almaty – 2025” serves as a significant platform to unite the youth of the Turkic world around common goals and deepen cultural and spiritual continuity. It is an important step toward enhancing mutual understanding, trust, and raising international cooperation to a new level. The connections made today will form a strong foundation for unity and a shared civilized future.
