Students and Faculty Members Participated in the Tourist Competition “Golden Autumn – 2025”

On September 20–21, 2025, students and faculty members of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism took part in the annual tourist rally “Golden Autumn – 2025”. The event was organized by the Commonwealth of Sports Tourists of Kazakhstan, the Department of Tourism of Almaty City, the Federation of Sports Tourism of the Almaty Region, Kaz Alpine Club (KAC), and the Ile-Alatau National Park.

The rally featured competitions in several categories: Technical Distance, Contest Distance, “Dad, Mom, Me”, and the “Route” discipline. For first-year students, this event served as an important practical platform to become familiar with the basics of active and sports tourism, develop teamwork skills, learn how to set up camp, organize food, and acquire many other essential outdoor competencies.

More than 100 students and master’s students of the department, along with faculty members Artemyev A.M., Bayburiev R.M., Beisakhmet A.A., Adilbay B.S., Tokenova Zh.Zh., took part in the rally.

The university team “ZhasTour” represented the department with dignity, successfully competing for prizes and achieving 3rd place overall among 24 participating teams.

Participation in such events helps strengthen corporate spirit, develop leadership qualities, and foster an active life position among young people. The tourist rally became a bright and memorable event, leaving many positive impressions and inspiring students for new achievements.
