AN EXHIBITION WILL BE HELD FOR TEHRAN CITY DAY

On October 6, 2025, the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will host the opening ceremony of an exhibition dedicated to Tehran City Day. The exhibition is organized by the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty. The leadership of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, its staff, and special guests are expected to attend the opening ceremony of this cultural event.

It is worth noting that Tehran has been the capital of Iran since the accession of Agha Muhammad Khan to the throne in 1796. Since then, the city has been the political arena for many important events in Iranian history. On October 6, 1906, during the Constitutional Movement, the Supreme National Council adopted the City Law. Thus, from that day on, Tehran's governance became subject to official legislation, and October 6 was declared Tehran Day.
