Syrym Kasenov Appointed as Head of the Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics has appointed Syrim Erkinovich Kasenov as its new head.

Professor Kasenov is an accomplished scholar specializing in numerical methods, integral equations, and mathematical modeling. His leadership will focus on enhancing research excellence, supporting young scientists, and expanding international cooperation.

Under his guidance, the department will prioritize quality education, scientific innovation, and strong academic partnerships. These initiatives align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
