III Turkic Universiade. Students from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan competed. Competitions were held in volleyball, futsal, table tennis, chess, judo, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.

Aitbekov Akezhan is a 1st year student of the Faculty of Law, took 2nd place at the Turkic Universiade in freestyle wrestling in the 97kg weight category.
