at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University continues the microqualification program “Investigation of Economic Crimes,”

📢 The Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University continues the microqualification program “Investigation of Economic Crimes,”implemented in partnership with the Agency for Financial Monitoring of the Republic of Kazakhstan (AFM RK) and the Department of Economic Investigations for Almaty City.

 

The program aims to develop professional competencies in economic security and strengthen skills in pre-trial investigation — from financial risk analysis and drafting procedural documents to working in government information systems and interacting with financial intelligence units.

 

💼 Program structure:

• theoretical training (4 weeks);

• practical skill development (6 weeks);

• work with case studies and mock criminal cases (4 weeks);

• final project defense (1 week).

 

🧩 Modules include:

• investigation of economic crimes and property-related offenses;

• combating illegal gambling operations;

• anti–money laundering;

• modeling and defending a mock criminal case.

 

📚 Format: in-person, online, or blended.

⏱ Duration: 15 weeks (10 academic credits).

🎓 Target audience: senior students majoring in Law, Economics, or Finance.

 

Training involves simulators such as ERDR, SIOPSO, and IS SER, and includes practical workshops led by experts from the AFM RK and the Department of Economic Investigations.

 

📘 The initiative contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8 – “Decent Work and Economic Growth,”providing students with modern, practice-oriented knowledge and skills in demand across public and private sectors.

 

📍 The program continues successfully at the department, reflecting strong student engagement and strengthening collaboration between Al-Farabi KazNU and the Agency for Financial Monitoring.
