Round table dedicated to The Day of the Republic
The Department of Turkology and Language Theory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a round table discussion on the topic: “Day of the Republic: Independence, Unity, and the Future of Kazakhstan.” The event aimed to promote reflection on the historical and spiritual meaning of this important national holiday.
The students discussed the values of independence, the role of youth in the nation’s progress, and the importance of civic responsibility. Reflections on the ideas of Abai, Akhmet Baitursynuly, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and other prominent figures inspired thoughtful dialogue on patriotism and personal involvement in shaping the country’s future.
The meeting concluded with a reflective activity titled “Everything Is in Your Hands.” Students outlined their palms and shared their impressions, creating images that symbolized unity of thought, emotion, and aspiration. The hands became a symbol of the idea that the nation’s history, culture, language, and future lie in the hands of the younger generation, reminding everyone of their shared responsibility, unity, and faith in Kazakhstan.
The round table fostered civic awareness, cultural appreciation, and a sense of shared purpose among the younger generation.
