Leadership Lecture by a Lawyer: “Representation in Court in the Context of the Sustainable Development Goals”

As part of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal No. 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”, a guest lecture was held in room 305 on the topic “Representation in Court” for 3rd-year students of the educational program “6B04205 – Jurisprudence.”
The invited lecturer was Maksim Vadimovich Savich, a lawyer of the Almaty City Bar Association.
During his lecture, Maksim Vadimovich provided a detailed overview of the key aspects of the institution of judicial representation, including its concept, legal status, types and powers of representatives, as well as the procedure for their appointment and participation in civil proceedings.
He emphasized the practical importance of representation in ensuring the effective protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens and legal entities.
Special attention was given to practical examples from his own legal practice, which allowed students to see the real application of procedural norms in a lawyer’s work. In addition, he discussed modern challenges in the legal profession, including the influence of artificial intelligence and digital technologies on court proceedings.
Throughout the lecture, students asked questions regarding complex aspects of judicial representation, professional ethics, and the peculiarities of defending clients’ interests in courts of various instances.
Such events contribute to the development of professional legal thinking among future lawyers, strengthen the connection between theory and practice, and promote the growth of students’ legal culture.
The Department of Civil Law, Civil Procedure, and Labor Law plans to continue its cooperation with practicing lawyers and attorneys, inviting them to participate in the department’s educational and scientific-practical activities.
