SDG 3, 5: Health Awareness Session at KazNU

16 october, 2025

An educational lecture for female students was organized at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the participation of gynecologists from Almaty City Clinical Hospital No. 5. The main purpose of the event was to raise awareness among young women and adolescents about the prevention of early pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and to promote a culture of reproductive health protection.

During the lecture, medical professionals provided detailed information on female physiological development, personal hygiene, the importance of proper nutrition and emotional well-being, as well as the social, psychological, and medical consequences of early pregnancy. They also presented data on various types of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), their symptoms, prevention measures, and treatment options.

The specialists emphasized the importance of taking responsibility for one’s own health, undergoing regular preventive medical check-ups, and consulting healthcare professionals in case of any concerns.

The meeting was held in an interactive format, where students had the opportunity to ask their questions and receive comprehensive answers from experts. An open and trusting dialogue was established between the participants and the specialists.

Such lectures aim to increase young people’s medical literacy, foster a responsible attitude towards personal health, and promote a healthy lifestyle. The university plans to continue conducting similar educational and preventive activities on a regular basis.
