CURRENT ISSUES OF THE HUMANITIES WERE DISCUSSED.
On October 17, 2025, within the framework of SDG 4 “Quality Education” and SDG 17 “Partnership for Sustainable Development,” the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Faculty of Philology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, together with Zhambyl Center for Philological Research, held an International Scientific and Theoretical Conference “Current Issues of Modern Humanities and the Literature, Folklore, Mythology of Turkic-Speaking Peoples.” The event was dedicated to the anniversary of Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor Almasbek Anykbekuly Maulenov.
The conference brought together foreign and domestic scholars, university professors, students, doctoral and master’s degree candidates. At the plenary sessions, participants discussed the pressing issues of folklore and mythology studies in the era of digitalization and artificial intelligence, the methodological and theoretical research of the scholar-folklorist and mythologist A.A. Maulenov, as well as the problems of teaching and applying interdisciplinary humanitarian knowledge in higher education.

The meeting was opened and moderated by Kanseit Abdezuly, Doctor of Philology, Professor, and Chief Researcher at the Abai Research Institute of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Speakers and distinguished guests included Professor D. Iskakuly (KazNU), Professor N. Nazarov (Tashkent State University named after A. Navoi, Doctor of Philosophy), Doctor of Philology N. Akysh (M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art), Doctor of Philology G. Orda, Candidate of Philology P. Auespaeva, President of the Manas Academy (Kyrgyzstan) Aziz Bimyrzauly, Dean of the Faculty of Philology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Doctor of Philology, Professor A. Tanzharyk and others.
Scholars from Turkey, Bulgaria, Tatarstan, Mongolia, and Bashkortostan joined the conference online.
As part of the event, presentations of the monographs: “Folklore, Myth, Literature” and “Folklore and Mythology in the Literature of Turkic-Speaking Peoples” by Professor A. Maulenov took place.
The moderator of the plenary session, Professor K. Abdezuly, read a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek and presented congratulatory folders from rectors of leading universities and deans of faculties across the country.

Writer and public figure N. Kapalbekuly, in his speech, highlighted the productive work of the Zhambyl Center for Philological Research led by Professor A. Maulenov.
The anniversary forum, dedicated not only to the scholar but also to the teacher, Turkologist, personality researcher, and literary critic A. Maulenov, became a significant and inspiring event that left a lasting impression on all participants and attendees.
