Guest Lecture on “Modern Cybersecurity Threats and Prevention of Cybercrime”

In celebration of the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Department of Civil Law, Civil Procedure, and Labor Law of the Faculty of Law at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a guest lecture on the topic “Modern Cybersecurity Threats and Prevention of Cybercrime.”

The lecture was delivered by Senior Lieutenant of Police Rustаm Beisengalievich Toktarbekov, an operative officer of the Cybercrime Counteraction Department of the Almaty City Police Department.

During the lecture, the speaker addressed pressing issues of the digital environment, including current cybersecurity threats, various forms and methods of cyber fraud, as well as legal and organizational measures to prevent them. Special attention was given to the protection of personal data, the development of digital literacy, and the promotion of responsible online behavior.

The event contributed to enhancing students’ professional awareness in the field of cybersecurity and strengthening a practice-oriented approach in the training of future lawyers. Such meetings promote cooperation between educational institutions and law enforcement agencies, helping students understand current risks and trends in the digital sphere. The guest lecture became an important component of professional training aimed at developing competencies necessary for effective legal practice in the context of digital transformation.
